Kayle Martin
Howdy Neighbor!
A little about me ….
I grew up in Grass Valley, the heart of Northern California’s Gold Country, where I spent my childhood climbing trees, swimming in the local creeks, riding horses, and raising animals on a five-acre farm I shared with my single mother.
To me, this is not a job, but rather, my life calling. Truly, I consider it an honor for me to have the opportunity to work and care for your animals.
My Journey as a “Vegan Cowgirl”
I became a vegetarian in the sixth grade when my beloved cow “Cupcake” showed up on the dinner table. After being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 30, I made the transition from a vegetarian to a vegan diet and have been living an animal-free lifestyle for almost nine years. I’m grateful to say I am now totally cancer free!
When I’m not caring for pets, I counsel newly diagnosed breast cancer patients at the local hospital. I often speak at conferences and vegan-related events and have been featured in Cosmopolitan, Insight Health Living and Inspire Health magazines. I also enjoy spending free time seeking out new vegan restaurants and products (especially cowgirl boots!), and engaging in animal activism. You can view my vegan blog, Cowgirls & Collard Greens here.
My mission is to encourage and enable people — and animals — to live happier, healthier lives.
I know how much your pet means to you, and I hope you know how much I consider it a privilege to care for a special member of your family.
Sincerely,
